Ingredients for Easter Nests
- 150g dark chocolate
- 50g butter (or vegan alternative)
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- 100g Rice Krispies (or similar cereal)
- Mini eggs to decorate (or vegan alternative)
You will also need:
- 12 cupcake cases
- A cupcake baking tray
How to Make Easter Nests (Step-by-Step)
1. Melt the Chocolate Mixture
Gently melt the chocolate, butter, and golden syrup together.
You can do this:
- In a saucepan on low heat, or
- In the microwave in short bursts
Stir regularly and avoid overheating, the mixture should be smooth and glossy.
2. Add the Cereal
Pour the Rice Krispies into the melted chocolate mixture.
Stir until all the cereal is fully coated in chocolate.
3. Shape Your Nests
Spoon the mixture into your cupcake cases.
Use the back of a spoon to gently press the centre down slightly to create a nest shape.
4. Add the Easter Eggs
Place mini eggs (or your chosen Easter treats) into the centre of each nest.
This is the fun part, get creative!
5. Leave to Set
Allow the nests to set at room temperature for 1–2 hours, or place them in the fridge to speed things up.

- Use good quality dark chocolate for a richer flavour
- Don’t overheat the chocolate, it can become grainy
- Lightly press the mixture, don’t squash it too much
- Add toppings before the chocolate sets
